Vision
To cultivate and promote a centre to divulge advanced level education and training in Visual Media, accentuating various, multifarious perspectives and aesthetic presentation of indigenous realities using comprehensive media strategies.
Mission
- Â To provide a broad spectrum of visual media to enable students make sparkling career choices.
- To train students towards better understanding of media by perfecting their Originality, Imagination, Ingenuity, Inventiveness, Resourcefulness and Creativeness.
- To facilitate use of unconventional media to bring optimistic, progressive changes in society.
- To bring down the gap between the academia and media industry.
Objectives
- Â To train students in meaningful use of visual media
- To explore alternative perspectives within visual media in a globalized context.
- To train students to understand the loss of cultural identities in contemporary visual media and enable them to revive those identities by responsibly using the visual media.
- To sharpen the creative capacities in students to function in various fields in visual media.
- To introduce to students the various genres and branches in the visual media so as to enable them to locate the numerous possibilities to creatively engage the visual media.
- To help students to understand the socio-political dimensions of visual media without diluting it with too much of aesthetics.
- To help students understand the meaningful relationships between art and craft and technology so as to enable them to become globally recognized media professionals.

Industrial visits are an important part of Visual Communication and many of their daily hours are absorbed for outside teaching and Field work. Following are few of our places of visit- Photography shoot in Mahabalipuram, Vandalur Zoo, Dakshin Chitra, Birds Sanctuary, etc.
- Television production in AVM Studios, Prasad Studios, MGR Film City, etc.
- Film studies in Production House, Film Shooting Spot, etc.
Internship Program:

State of the art lab facilities are available in our college to ensure students are at par with the industry standards. Fully equipped labs with the latest technology are available in Photography, Drawing, Multimedia and Television production.Video Library
A wide collection of films from South East Asia to Middle East Asia, U.S.A to South American and European film screening on regular intervals to enable the students to enrich their knowledge about the different facets of societies.
The Video Library has the projector facility apart from the television sets, with a film collection of about 250 digital video discs.

- The department library contains the most world classic novels which have been made into films.
Movie Club:
A wide collection of films from all languages of India and European films are screened at regular intervals to enable the students to enrich their knowledge about the different facets such as storyline, technology, camera angles, photographic techniques and sound effects.
